The Phytoceutical Principle
Eastern Medicine. Western Science
The Founder

Eastern Medicine. Western Science

The ancient medical philosophies of the Orient have a deep understanding of how an imbalance in the functioning of the body's metabolism leads to signs and symptoms of ill health. By having this knowledge, it is then possible to determine the cause of these symptoms and address them by administering specific botanical formulas to correct the metabolism and thus alleviate the symptoms.

Eastern Medicine uses many herbs in each formulation. This is a traditional knowledge handed down from generation to generation, which is unique to the medical traditions of the East.

The basis of formulating: a major herb is used for the main active constituent. This is called the King or Emperor herb. It has specific properties to regulate the body and bring back balance. However, since the body and constitution are complex, it is then usual to add other herbs around the king to address other aspects of the health issue. These are called Ministers. Further herbs can then be added to help protect aspects of the body while treatment is being given. Finally, botanical co-ordinators are added to direct the formulation to the part of the body where the treatment is required. In this way it is possible to produce formulations with high potency which treat the cause, not just the symptoms, targeted to specific areas.

Phytoceutical manufacture these traditional formulations of the Orient to Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Standards bringing together Eastern medicine and Western science.
